Campaign to save the tiger!
The borderless destruction of its natural habitats, the endless decrease of its prey and the merciless hunt through humans drive the tiger closer to extinction every day. Three out of the eight species of tigers have already been lost for future generations in the last decades. All the hope for one more species, the southern Chinese tiger, starts to fade as well. This is why the “Tiger-Campaign” was brought to life by the EAZA. This campaign does not only coordinate breeding programs to conserve these magnificent feral cats, but mainly uses the animals in zoos as representatives for their counterparts in the wilderness.
