Colourful hustle and bustle at the zoo

On Shrove Tuesday, things get colourful at the zoo: the parrot proudly preens its bright red feathers while the jaguar cleans its black and yellow spotted coat and the little blue poison dart frogs flash between green leaves. But it's not just the enclosures that are colourful. Together, we parade in masks from the main entrance to the Rhino Kiosk, playing music on homemade instruments. It's great fun and not to be missed.

What to expect:

  • Musical carnival parade through the zoo for the whole family
  • Craft station for masks and mini musical instruments
  • Illustrative knowledge transfer and presentation of theme-based animal exhibits
  • Commentated enrichment at the white-handed gibbons
  • Animal feeding at the spectacled penguins

Itinerary:

1.30pm – Craft table for masks and small musical instruments at the ‘Das ZoO’ restaurant

  • For a small fee, we will craft fun carnival masks or small musical instruments together.

3pm – Zoo guide welcomes participants at the main entrance
