On Saturday, 30 May 2026, visitors can look forward to an exciting interactive display dedicated to these fascinating aquatic acrobats, located next to the otter enclosure. Here, those interested will have the opportunity to gain valuable background knowledge about otters. Find out more about the animals’ way of life, their impressive adaptations to their aquatic habitat, and the current situation of wild otters. The exhibition will also explore the causes of population declines, necessary conservation measures, and the important role of zoos in species conservation.

What to expect:

  • Art corner for young artists
  • Guided otter feeding session

10am – Zoo educators lead interactive learning sessions

  • Information leaflets on the different species of otter
  • Everything you need to know about the threat to otters
  • Colouring sheets for creative minds
  • Information on species conservation at Salzburg Zoo

1.30pm – Guided otter feeding
