Making a long wait entertaining

As we eagerly await the arrival of Father Christmas, time seems to pass much more slowly on 24 December than on any other day of the year.
 
Father Christmas himself is always very busy on this day, so the animal keepers at Salzburg Zoo lend him a helping hand and, together with the zoo visitors, prepare some ‘Christmas surprises’ for the animals. Fir trees are decorated with carrots and apples, and Christmas presents are wrapped with various treats. Stories are read aloud, Christmas customs are explained, and interesting facts about different animals are shared. All these activities ensure that the time until the presents are handed out on Christmas Eve flies by.  
 
On 24 December, Salzburg Zoo is open from 9 am to 4.30 pm. Last admission is at 4pm! Regular admission prices apply.
No registration required. Subject to change.
The programme is only available in German.
