Rhinos in danger

To raise awareness of the threat to rhinos, World Rhino Day is held every year on 22 September. Despite all conservation efforts, poaching, the illegal wildlife trade and increasing habitat loss pose it's five to midnight for rhinos in Asia and Africa. In order to get the message out to all the zoo visitors, the Salzburg Zoo is organising an information stand to mark World Rhino Day on Sunday 27 September from 10.00 am, featuring an exciting short guided tour on the topic of ‘true crime species conservation’. 

What to expect:

• Information stand on rhinos
• Engaging educational activities and themed animal exhibits
• Introduction to the renowned conservation organisation Save the Rhino
• Exciting short guided tour

Itinerary:

10am – Zoo guides provide interactive knowledge transfer.

• Lots of facts about rhinos
• Current threats (poaching, illegal wildlife trade, habitat loss and much more)
• Quizzes, memory games and puzzles about these grey pachyderms
• Colouring sheets for creative minds
• Short guided tour: True Crime and Species Conservation

2pm – End
