How to get here

Salzburg Zoo can be reached by public transport, car or bicycle.

Public transportation

  • Bus line 25 runs regularly from Salzburg Central Station via the centre of Salzburg to Hellbrunn – stop ‘Anif Zoo Salzburg’.
  • The bus station is about a 3-minute walk from the main entrance.

Car

Motorway | A 10 (Austrian vignette required here!)

  • Take the Salzburg-Süd exit towards » Anif.
  • Turn left at the first traffic lights towards Salzburg Hellbrunn Zoo.
  • After 1 km, you will see Salzburg Hellbrunn Zoo on your right.

City center

  • Head south and follow the signs for Hellbrunn/Zoo.

Parking

  • You can park directly in our large car park, which is free for zoo visitors. Please remember to validate your parking ticket at the ticket machine at one of the two exit areas. If you have lost your parking ticket, please purchase a replacement ticket at the ticket machine at the exit (cost: €20).
  • As the capacity of the car park is limited, there is a possibility that there will be no free parking spaces available on busy days. We therefore recommend travelling by public transport.
  • NOTE: Caravans and larger campers must be parked in the designated paid parking spaces at nearby Hellbrunn Palace.
  • A limited number of parking spaces for buses is also available.

Bicycle

Signposted cycle routes lead from the city centre via Hellbrunner Allee to the zoo.

Children (under 12 years of age) must be accompanied by an adult supervisor when visiting the zoo.

All Animals need peace and quiet too! Noise and shouting disturbs our animals and they usually retreat into their hide.

Please stay on the visitor paths! Fences are there for your protection.
Most of the animals in the zoo are wild animals that do not tolerate human contact. Therefore, please keep a respectful distance!

Uncontrolled feeding is harmful to the health of our animals! Selected animals can be fed with special pellets, which are available at the ticket offices at the main and side entrance.

Dogs on a short leash are welcome at Salzburg Zoo. Admission for a dog costs €3. Other pets (e.g. cats, ferrets or parrots) must please stay at home!
